About Belasco Electric

Our industry expertise helps construction managers, architects, building supervisors, property managers and property owners solve power problems swiftly and efficiently, all in conformity with IBEW and NECA standards, as needed, for each project they work on.

The Belasco Story

Back in 1950, John and Margaret Belasco started their residential electrical business right in their own garage, based on John’s extensive training as an electrician in the US Navy. As their business grew, their son, John, became enamored with electricity and joined the business as an apprentice in 1977, where he became an outstanding Master Electrician. He bought the business from his parents in 1996 and has been running Belasco Electric ever since.

John’s attention to detail makes him sound like a diagnosing physician when you talk to him about your electrical problems, so many people refer him new clients when they can: everyone hears John’s commitment and expertise when they speak to him, so everyone trusts Belasco Electric and his staff of professionals to diagnose and cure their power problems fast.

Why Belasco? Longevity in serving Michigan, quality workmanship and exceptional staff sets Belasco Electric apart from other electrical contractors. John’s commitment to his customers means they get a six-year warranty [ 5 Plus ] on all residential wiring, instead of the traditional one-year.

Belasco Electric is an IBEW shop. John is a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, as well as the National Electrical Contractors Association, which means the commercial or residential electrical work at Belasco is in strict conformity with industry standards.

John and his licensed staff also stay up-to-date with advancements in technology on a regular basis, and John will only employ licensed apprentices, journeymen and master electricians to provide the best electrical services available. His staff of estimators are ready to offer competitive bids, and Belasco’s superior staff of experts provides prompt and efficient electrical service, even on a moment’s notice.

Community is Key Belasco Electric takes an active role in giving back to the community, with John serving on several charitable and local committees. Belasco Electric has also helped students explore different career paths by collaborating with local faculty for school-to-work mentorship programs.

Belasco Electric is an equal opportunity employer. We are affiliated with the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council in an effort to welcome and encourage diversity in the workplace. Belasco Electric also participates as members of the West Michigan Labor Management Cooperative Committee, the Muskegon Area Chamber of Commerce as well as the EPA Lead Abatement Program, and is listed on the prestigious Angie’s List.

Belasco Electric is a participating member of the +5 Electrical Contractors Warranty Program, which extends a residential builder's one-year warranty for an additional five years, so homes covered by the +5 Plan are actually protected for six years.
